2.8: Peace Akintade Talks Poetry, Identity, Creativity and Prairie Life

Peace Akintade is a Nigerian born story-telling creative making a home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan's Youth Poet Laureate for 2020-21 and Saskatoon’s Youth Slam Champion in 2017-19, her poems touch on growing up in Kuwait, Nigeria and Canada, the impact of slavery in the village in which she lived in Africa, colourism, and relearning her culture in the face of colonization. She is invested in many cool projects such as Write Out Loud and Tonight It's Poetry community.  and has many more ideas to see play out in the future.
